it's not larping, but really, can you freaks just stop video taping yourselves

Honestly I don't recall how I found these weirdos, some one might have sent the link, or maybe I was drawn in my Youtube's "you might laugh your ass off" side bar, I dunno, but watch, and be thankful (i hope) you don't know any of these people.

I mean, really. Come on guys, are you trying to impress the female autobots?
Cuz you're damn sure not attracting any female humans! I mean really? Dressing up like a transformer falls somewhere between COSplayers and furries...

I've got plenty of quirks, just ask my wife, but again I say, Really? You dress like a transformer? AND TRANSFORM?

Saw me some transformers

Nicole and I went out tonight since it's sorta like a Friday, it's Friday One of this week. We decided to brave the movie theatre and see Transformers.

If you're at all on the fence, go see it. If you're not really a mega fan, go see it. If you have some sort of hang up and don't like Micheal Bay (get over it, he doesn't know you, nor does he care that you don't like him), go see it.

There was enough good ol' big robots fighting other big robots to satiate anyone, plus some truly funny comic relief type scenes, just enough to not be 100% big CG robots, but not so much that you're sitting there waiting to see a Robot blow something up.

I was (as I usually am with a movie remake) skeptical going in, I mean come on, this is THE Transformers. The canon is sacrosanct. Nothing short of bringing back all the bitchin' memories of my childhood would do.

While I did miss some of the staples, Soundwave (He woulda made a killer Evil iPod), Starscream's boys the other jets, maybe the constructicons.Where was Sideswipe, Prowl, and company? But I guess it was lively enough with just a handful of each team, and there's definitely room for sequels, which I think would rock. They definitely didn't close many doors.

Spoiler ahead

RIP Jazz :(

Some pics of my car, cuz I'm like that.

Nicole and I took my sister up to Boulder during her visit, drove around the mountains and such. Nicole took a few pics of my car while we parked at a few places. Her photos rock, you should take a look.

Carbon Offset

I just can't own a prius. I like horsepower for one thing. More than that, I don't want some inattentive fool in a suburban, denali, navigator, etc.. to come rampaging towards me and not be able to get out of the way. I wish I could, I really do, and when the soccer moms stop driving land yachts, I'll be all over the hybrid. Until then...

Terra Pass, allows people (myself included) to offset their carbon production, by funding alternative energy research projects. I'm all over that. I think it's a great idea, and not really expensive, my car was $50/year. if that helps me offset the damage I cause, it's a steal at twice the price!

Go sign up! if you do before July 1, this coupon code might work, it did for me. JUNETB2006

We're not ready for "paperless"

GRRRR. wait one more... GRRRR ok that feels a bit better.

We still have the old car, the A6, it's for sale. IN order to make it a more or less painless process (we thought!) we used our HELOC to pay the loan off. Since the car is in my name and the HELOC in Nicole's she had to call. I knew the pay-off since I had written it down to take to the dealer in case they were feeling generous. They weren't BTW.

So Nicole calls BofA. She has all the needed info and gives them her info to pay off the loan. The helpful lady gives her a confirmation number, congratulates her on paying her loan off and off they both go. I call the CO DMV, just to see how the title will get to me, and make sure I don't need to get involved. Good thing I did.

CO doesn't have the Title. The bank will. They shouldn't send it to CO DMV, they should send it to me. So I call BofA, nice gentleman answers the phone. I'm asking him about it and he tells me that when the car is paid off (I missed it the first time, "when") they electronically notify the state of... CA that they're done and the title can be sent to me. CA? well the loan was started in CA so BofA in their ineptness can't update anything so no matter what happens, the title gets released to CA, whether I live there or not.

He says, "When" a few more times so I ask, when will it be released, "When it's paid off." I explain that we paid it off last week. Turns out, somewhere between me, my wife, and BofA, the loan amount was reduced by 284.66, so when she "paid it off" she was in fact, not doing anything of the sort.

So I pay the last little bit off, which luckilly didn't incur another 10.00 pay-by-phone fee. Since we paid it last week, he waived it. I might have had to reach through the phone and choked him.

So the car is (again) paid off. I call CA DMV now to see what's next, since in the next three days they'll get the "we release the ELECTRONIC TITLE" on this car. The electronic part is important because... get this. I call CA DMV.
"Oh it's an electronic title. YOu basically have to fill out a form to request a duplicate title from us."
"How long does it take?"
"2-3 weeks."
"Any way to speed it up?"
"Nope."

It's an electronic title. As soon as it's released by BofA, what logic is applied that says, don't send it to the owner unless they request it. How is an electronic title strictly bound to the state the loan was started in? it's electronic, not bound by anything physical. The instant it's paid off it should automagically print out, then some mailroom monkey should stuff it in an envelope, then it should come to me.

The Paperless society sucks major ass!!!

The downside of buying a car

I love having a new car. I'm  a new * type of person. I love new stuff. The only downside to buying a new car... well there are two sometimes.

1. Selling the old car. If you can't get the dealer to AT LEAST pay it off, you're then stuck trying to move it ASAP on your own. I just hate that process.
2. Getting the car the way you want it. I know it's possible to go the more expensive easy route and pay the dealer to do it all but that seems silly.

Yesterday was window tinting. a 5.5 hour ordeal of window tinting. What makes it so sucky is I had no ride. Nicole was at work. I was trapped in a shopping center with little to interest me for hours! When I went to go check the car, THEY HADN'T EVEN STARTED IT!!! grrr

That done, today was the 3M clear bra thingamajig. I could have had it put on before getting the car, but that woulda meant waiting two more days for the car, I might have burst a blood vessel in those two days. SO I had to go get it done this morning. Thankfully (and Brian Bushnell of the McDonald AG Collision Center rocks!!!) they were done in just an hour. I was shocked, and impressed and mostly just really happy.

So now I have a nice dark interior not getting sun backed. and the front of the car is protected from chips (I hope)

Ahhhh.....

It's here! It's Here!!!

Finaly!! We picked it up today around noon. Only a few pics so far. N took them as I came home from the dealer. She had to drive the A6 home.

I'll take more tomorrow.

New car is on the way.

We pulled the trigger on our next (second) big "couple Purchase"

Unfortunately for me. Avants are about as rare as unicorns. Add navigation, you might as well be looking for a jackalope.

So I had to resort to a factory order. Which while cool that it will have never been driven by anyone but me, no test drivers, etc. it also means it's 2 months out. I lucked out in that the dealer had a blank order in the queue in Germany already and was able to modify it to my spec, shaving a month off the lead time. But damn if the next two months won't be a FREAKING ETERNITY!!

Here's the spec.

Busy, busy, busy, bizzy

Been a busy time of late.

We got back from Portland last Saturday.  The good ol's TSA did their usual crappy job and spilled Nicole's glaze. That kinda sucked.

We picked up Terrance at the Kennel. He got kennel cough or dog flu, not sure. we're hoping the 'Tussin helps. It did for Chris Rock.

Work has been crazy. The project is coming to and end. Not peacefully, but they rarelly do. Free had a good point. Every project ends with, "the next one won't suck like this..." But in truth most do. "the grass is usually just as brown on the other side."

Nicole ok'ed the new car too. so I started the ball rolling on that.

Finally

Looks like I may have finally unloaded the last two pieces of the Passat. The Headlights finally have a bidder on ebay, hopefully one or two more will pop in at the end to try to snipe. The Navi has two guys interested in it, will be nice to give those things new homes.

Now I just need to unload the Passat itself. It's still in San Diego but should be coming home sometime this week. Then I'm going to try out the carfaire in Irvine.

The A6 is sure nice. I'm really digging it. The suspension is a bit squishy. That'll be the first thing I take care of.

Mr. Clean!!!

So I was in Wal-Mart today to pick up a few things that only wal-mart sells (as much as I wish Target did) and I saw this.

I gotta say I'm impressed. I got home and tried it out. Seems to have done a damn fine job. I did need to squeegy the windows, but that might have my imaptience and complete disgust with streaks!

Overall this product gets a Thumbs up so far!
