Got me some Taco Time!

On top of all the cool business stuff I took care of this past weekend, more important that any of that! I GOT ME SOME TACO TIME!!!!!

There's a lot I miss about Seattle and the Pac Northwest; The Water's nice, the mountain's nice, the weather ain't so bad, some of the people ain't bad either :)

But more than any of that, I miss Taco Time! The Crisp Meat Burrito is quite possibly the single greatest invention since... maybe the wheel.

It's by no means, healthy, so don't start on that jive! There's more to food than how few calories it has. Like the absolutely yummy flavor of spiced meat in a yummy crispy tortilla, all fried up golden brown.

While I was in town, my mom and sister came up to Seattle and we hung out for the day, ending our day at Taco Time, in Bellevue on 154st street, off the 520. Unlike many older Taco Time's this one is nice, clean, and turns out a yummy Crisp Meat Burrito.

Would you like a baby Jesus

Nicole found this on amazon yesterday, and I damn near wet my pants when I saw it.

I mean, come one. Who doesn't want an edible Wise Man? I don't know about any one else, but I've always wanted to eat an angel, now I can!!

My initial thought was to make a bunch of baby jesus' and put them in a candy dish (for better effect, fill with cherry cordial filling) and leave on desk.

Coworker, "Yum, these are great, what are they?"

me, "Baby Jesus."

Priceless.

Weekends are just too short

Weekends are just too short. This fact, while universally known and accepted is further worsened by having to spend a good deal of said weekend working. Yes, working. The upside, thankfully. is that I get paid for it. Yes, that's right. $ Bay-bee.

I spent most of saturday working. I was able to get out for a little shopping trip to Target and yummy dinner with the wife. We hit up Thai Basil, which I highly recommend. Great food, greater service. Luckilly we missed the homecoming rush and were leaving as party 1 of 4 was arriving. 28 high school kids. ACK.

Sunday was a better. Still worked, but like I said above... $  so that's ok.

We decided that it was time to try our hands at furniture shopping again. We tried once before to put a couch in the basement, to no avail. The door and corridor to the basement are pretty darn small and tight. Rather than a full blown sofa we opted, this time for pieces. We picked up two end pieces of a larger sectional setup. Each is an armless chair but can be slid together for the sleeping or cuddling or whatever. So those arrive Tuesday.

We also hit up BigLOTs. Ah yeah discount shopping at it's best worst. Got some nice clothes and furniture and home decore... HA no. We got green beans for the dogs, a bag of cheetos for me, and some other small stuff. Our goal was a white table cloth for Nicoles upcoming pottery sale, mission failed. How hard is it to find a white table clothe? Hard.

Then back home for some TV and more work.

Dinner was our first attempt at wok frying Tofu... we need to practice a bit...

And with that the weekend is over...

but wait! Rob sent this to me (that's him in the fly zoot suit)... Damned if I didn't ROTFLOL

Greetings... From Hawai'i

well we're here. HI. Maui to be specific. We're staying at the Hyatt Regency outside Lahaina.

Not a bad thing yet. We've enjoyed the pool, which while not too warm, is warm enough to be nice. The work out facility is incredible. By far the best I've seen in a hotel. Granted this is a "resort" but still, it's a damn nice, well appointed workout facility.

We haven't partaken of the "activities" yet, mostly cuz the price to enjoyment ratio doesn't jive with us. We are going to do the "road to Hana" tomorrow, that should be fun.

Last night was our one year wedding anniversary, we went up to Whalers Village for dinner. Had a great meal (I ate steak!!) and watched the sun set. The waitress knew (we didn't tell her) it was our anniversary so we enjoyed a comped dessert.. as if we needed it, but damn it was good.

Nicole is (as I type) getting pampered at the health spa, fingers and toes and all that good girly stuff. After that we're heading for Lahaina Town, see the huge Banyan tree, walk around town, probably have dinner at Bubba Gumps, how can we not?

That's about it for the trip so far, More to come for sure. Already finished one of the books I brought.

Fatburger and Wifi

I was torn today on what to do for lunch. I normally whip up a little microwave healthy pizza, but sometimes like to get out of the house.

Decided to haul the iBook over to FatBurger.... mmmmm monthly indulgance. Figured I'd be wifi challanged but that was ok, since I was working on my new short story. I was pleasantly surprised to find Wifi. Now, I'll grant that it wasn't an "Official FatBurger Hotspot" but it was an open AP in range. I was still there to write, but at least I could run iChat and talk to some peeps too.

= me having a very good lunch, enjoying the outside world, getting something done, and being connected to the world still.

Thai food rocks

Mad Pad Thai tonight. Good stuff. Of course I had to spice it up a few notches.

I may make it again tomorrow.. Not sure. Either that or mexican..? Maybe red beans and rice*

* Food isn't worth eating unless it's spicey. If it comes spicey, add a little. If it's not spicery add a lot!
